Never the Town Hall
It can be tempting, but you should never upgrade your town hall first in CoC. This will put you at a disadvantage against raiders. Only upgrade when everything else has been upgraded first.
Offense
Your main priority should always be your offense. This will help make it easier to invade other bases, hopefully grabbing some resources along the way. The priority should be:
-Laboratory
-Clan Castle
-Heroes
-Army Camps
-Barracks
-Spell Factories
You should prioritize either army camps or barracks, depending on what you’re trying to do with the build you’re running. Spell factories take a long time to upgrade, so try to make these the very last thing that you upgrade.
Resources
Your main priority should be storage space, particularly if you are early on in the game. If you are not building loads and loads of storage, then you’ll often struggle to find space. This means that you’ll be missing out on key resources.
After you’ve upgraded the storage in Clash of Clans, it is time to upgrade your collectors. This will help to bring in more resources to your base, allowing you faster upgrades. We know that there are some people that will prioritize collectors over everything else (including offense), but that doesn’t really work. It is a slow upgrade process.
In some cases, you might want to prioritize storage over offense. This is often suggested if you are far more of a casual player i.e. somebody that isn’t logging in every single day. This is because prioritizing storage and collectors will give you passive resources to play about with.
Defense
Finally – upgrade your defense. Traps should be your main priority here, since you’ll get them upgraded for a low price, and it’ll be pretty fast. After that, go through and upgrade your defense buildings.
We know that this can seem a little strange, since you’ll be invaded a lot. However, honestly, defense isn’t a huge priority. It may keep the invaders at bay a little bit, but your offense and storage will help you to upgrade your CoC base quicker.
You may want to dip into defense upgrades a little as a priority every so often, but it should never be the main focus of the game.
